Medication Administration by Pharmacy Personnel

The Board's rules permit a pharmacist, pharmacy intern, and certified pharmacy technician to administer medications after they have obtained the specified education and training identified in the rule. Before you engage in this practice, we strongly recommend your review of the appropriate section of Board regulations.

Section 521 for pharmacists.
Section 711 for pharmacy interns.
Section 913 for certified pharmacy technicians.

The Louisiana Board of Pharmacy does not require a Medication Administration Registration credential any longer. Therefore, applications for a new credential or renewal will not be processed.
