BE AWARE OF IMPERSONATION SCAMS: Board staff and NABP (National Association of Boards of Pharmacy) will not contact you by telephone and demand personally identifiable information or payment of funds for any reason.
Description of the Scam - In this scam, a pharmacy receives a phone call from someone who claims to represent the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy. The caller ID shows a Board of Pharmacy telephone number or NABP’s official telephone number, which bad actors have spoofed to appear legitimate. The caller then attempts to solicit information from pharmacy staff, including information that may constitute personally identifiable information (PII). Caller ID spoofing is a technique used by scammers to make an incoming call appear to originate from a trusted or official source. A familiar phone number on caller ID does not confirm the identity of the caller.

State Office Closure / August 28-30, 2021 / Hurricane Ida
The Louisiana Commissioner of Administration has ordered the closure of state offices in 38 parishes in southeast Louisiana, including East Baton Rouge Parish, in anticipation of the forecasted arrival of Hurricane Ida on Sunday, August 29, 2021. Since the Board office is located within East Baton Rouge Parish, the Board office will be closed through August 30, 2021. Unless the closure order is further extended, we intend for the current staff to return to the office on Tuesday, August 31, 2021.
We are still adversely impacted by the effects of COVID-19 and do not have enough staff to greet visitors at the office. If you wish to deliver materials to the office, we have a mail slot near the front door to receive those materials. If you wish to contact our office, we encourage your use of our general email account at info@pharmacy.la.gov. As soon as we have enough staff to greet visitors, we will re-open the office for public access. We appreciate your patience in the interim.
