BE AWARE OF IMPERSONATION SCAMS: Board staff and NABP (National Association of Boards of Pharmacy) will not contact you by telephone and demand personally identifiable information or payment of funds for any reason.
Description of the Scam - In this scam, a pharmacy receives a phone call from someone who claims to represent the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy. The caller ID shows a Board of Pharmacy telephone number or NABP’s official telephone number, which bad actors have spoofed to appear legitimate. The caller then attempts to solicit information from pharmacy staff, including information that may constitute personally identifiable information (PII). Caller ID spoofing is a technique used by scammers to make an incoming call appear to originate from a trusted or official source. A familiar phone number on caller ID does not confirm the identity of the caller.
Board Prepares to Relocate Office
The Board of Pharmacy is planning to move its office to a different location in Baton Rouge. The Board office will be closed from May 6 through May 9. We will re-open on Tuesday, May 10 at our new location. Our telephone and fax numbers will remain the same. Our new physical location and mailing address will be:
Louisiana Board of Pharmacy
3388 Brentwood Drive
Baton Rouge, LA 70809-1700
During the move, it will be necessary to suspend the operation of our telephone service and our website for a brief period of time. As we draw closer to moving day, we will post more specific information on our website about the date and hours of the interruption in service. We appreciate your patience as we re-position the office to our new location.
