A power outage affecting a portion of the Baton Rouge area in the early morning hours on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 affected the operations at the Board office. Although the power was restored within a couple of hours after the office opened Wednesday morning, the telephone, facsimile, email, and Internet services were not available. For most of Wednesday, the website was down; however, that service was restored by the early evening. We know that some pharmacists renewed their licenses online shortly thereafter.
Although the office was closed on Thursday, December 31, we worked with our vendor to restore our telephone, facsimile, and Internet service, and by late afternoon, it appeared that all of our communication services were restored.
Finally, as a reminder, the office is closed today, January 1, 2016; we will re-open on Monday, January 4, 2016. We appreciate your understanding and patience while we restored the communication services at the Board office.
