A power outage affecting a portion of the Baton Rouge area early this morning is affecting the Board office. Although the power was restored within a couple of hours after the office opened this morning, the telephone, facsimile, email, and network support services have not yet been restored. As a result, the office cannot receive or place any telephone calls, nor can we send or receive any faxes or emails. The website is up and running; however, the ability to renew a credential online requires network support services, therefore, that capability is also not available. However, forms and applications can be accessed on our website, downloaded, and printed.
Our vendor is aware of our limited capability and the remedies have been authorized. We are not the only office impacted so we need to wait our turn. Hopefully, our services will be completely restored before the end of the day.
If you have not yet renewed your credential, please remember you can access, download, and print the paper forms on our website. To avoid the late renewal penalties, you need to ensure your mailing envelope contains a postal mark no later than tomorrow, December 31, 2015.
